The Sea of Cortez

The Sea of Cortez, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was considered “the world’s aquarium” by Jacques Cousteau.

It is one of the richest bodies of water on the planet. Its diverse sea is home to more than 900 varieties of fish, more than 2,000 species of marine invertebrates and 39% of the world’s total number of marine mammals. Several species of whales regularly visit this ecological wonderland, and the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, is often
spotted by our guests.

The sea abounds with game fish and an extraordinary amount of world record fish have been caught here. The sheer variety of fish, including roosterfish, yellowtail, dorado, marlin and sailfish is impressive, and you’ll have multiple opportunities to fish throughout your voyage. Our chef will also cook your catch on board for your next meal, or vacuum seal it for you to take home.

Preview your best vacation ever

Come explore the Sea of Cortez’s natural abundance and swim, kayak, snorkel or stand-up paddle board among some of the most majestic creatures on earth.

Day One

We’ll meet you at San Jose del Cabo Airport and bring you to La Paz for our early afternoon embarkation. After touring your stateroom, you’ll get an introduction to the ship and a safety briefing, and we’ll be ready to embark. From La Paz, we’ll cruise until we drop anchor in a prime location for swimming with whale sharks. We’ll enjoy an incredible dinner en route to Playa Balandra, where you can watch the sunset, swim, kayak or go ashore.

Experience more than the destination

“My weekend on the Pacific Provider, hands down, blew away all expectations. The never ending adventure that took place on that boat will be a memory my friends and I will talk about for years to come.
Cannot wait for round two!”

Day Two

Wake to a fresh breakfast before exploring Playa Balandra, where you can beachcomb, hike, snorkel, or try stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). We’ll return to the ship for lunch, then cruise to Isla Espiritu Santo and its stunningly clear waters. You can walk the white sands of Ensenada Grande, ranked one of the world’s top 12 beaches, wonder at the stark beauty of Caleta Candelero or hike to a freshwater spring. Or, take one of our four tenders to Los Islotes, where you can swim with sea lions.

Experiences crafted for you

Day Three

After breakfast, choose your direction—and your adventure. Go north for Isla San Francisquito and Isla San Jose, where you can kayak the mangrove-lined waterways, and put down the day’s first footprints on a remote beach. Or head south, for a thrilling day of trophy fishing off Isla Cerralvo—Jacques Cousteau island—waters renowned for marlin, swordfish and other prize catches.

Adventure travel for the uncommon explorer

“Having been an avid surfer and all around waterman for most of my life, I’ve done numerous trips up the California coast with friends and family. However, none of them compare to the time that I spent on the Pacific Provider with the crew from Offshore Outpost.”

Day Four

This morning, pursue dorado, yellowtail, golden grouper and other local game fish, or set off to sight the many whales and dolphins inhabiting these waters. Following lunch, your options span a range of activities on both land and sea—do everything, or nothing at all. At day’s end, we’ll gather around a campfire on the beach for dinner, followed by fresh-made desserts and cocktails under a star-strewn sky.

Personalized experiences in an intimate setting at sea

“From the gourmet food cooked up 3 times a day to getting boated out and dropped off at Little Dume in Malibu, I landed at my desk on Monday morning just speechless of my previous 4 days. The never-ending adventure that took place on that boat will be a memory my friends and I will talk about for years to come.
Cannot wait for round two!”

Day Five

Cruising further south, we’ll skirt the rugged coast off Punta Arena, sighting its signature lighthouse and small town of Los Barriles, where our tenders can ferry you to amazing beaches and nearly limitless options for land and water fun. The area is also prime roosterfish habitat—considered among the world’s most unique and exciting gamefish, which can reach 100 lbs. of muscle and bad attitude.

It’s both the journey and the destination

“The staff on board truly cares about providing the best experience one can ask for. We surfed at will, ate like kings, kayaked in Malibu, and absolutely loved every single minute of it. I got off the boat yesterday and am already planning my next trip… no joke. Thank you for one of the best weekends of my life.”

Friday & Saturday
Days Six & Seven

We’ll set off on Pacific Provider early, spending the day exploring Cabo Pulmo, a protected marine reserve where you can snorkel or dive the spectacular 20,000-year-old reef, or find smaller wonders in the many tide pools ashore. That evening, over cocktails and fish tales, we’ll enjoy a slideshow of our week’s activities- adventures shared with new friends. After a last shipboard breakfast on Saturday morning, we’ll pass the famous El Arco (The Arch) at Land’s End, as we cruise back to Cabo San Lucas, where we’ll be met by your airport transfer for your flight home.

The possibilities—and the choices—are yours

* Locations we stop at may change based on wildlife, weather and sea conditions.
